The Cotopaxi National Park was named after the highest active snow-capped volcano in the world (19,347 ft above sea level).
It is located 37 miles from Quito. The Park includes 83,829 acres, and the altitude ranges from 11,152 ft to 19,347 ft above sea level. The Cotopaxi Volcano is one of the most important features of this park. It is the highest active volcano in the world. Adventurous professional mountain climbers are attracted to this site along with many tourists who take pride in attempting to reach the top. The volcano offers climbing experiences for all skill levels.

Departure from Quito through The Panamericana South Highway, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the place, we will visit the Saquisilí market (only Thursdays) where native people of the region expose and sell their handicrafts, continuing we will arrive at the impressive active volcano Cotopaxi (5.897 m. High). During our staying at the National Park we will visit its museum, the natural environment of the place, its animals and plants, stop a the Limpiopungo lake , continue to the typical hacienda where a typical appetizer will be served and then visit to its installations optional to this you can have lunch, ride horses or walk trough their nature paths.
Return to Quito in the afternoon

Departure from Quito through the "Avenue of the Volcanoes" admiring the beautiful Andean landscape. We will make a brief stop at the Cotopaxi National Park and then arrive to Riobamba where you will be accommodated in a typical hacienda of the region.
On the next day, after an early breakfast you will start your journey by train from Riobamba to the "Devil's Nose" a magnificent work incrusted in the Andes (about 7 hours of ride).
During the ride you will enjoy wonderful Andean landscapes with the Chimborazo volcano and the many small villages all along the way.
Return to Quito.

1st day: Departure from Quito aprox. at 08:00a.m. enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the Ecuadorian highlands trough the famous "Volcano Avenue". Ideal for photos. Visit to the Cotopaxi National Park Lunch included and departure to the city of Riobamba to spend the night in a typical hacienda f the region, Lodgement and Dinner included.
2nd day: Breakfast and departure by train aprox. at 7:00 a.m. From Riobamba train station to the Devil Nose a unique piece of engineering in the middle of the Andes (ride of 7 hours aprox. Includes a Box Lunch). After the train ride visit to the Ingapirca Inca Ruins, the biggest Inca archaeological complex in Ecuador from the XV and XVI centuries, (ticket to the complex not included) trough the ride you will be to watch the weavers of the famous “Panama Huts” artisans typical from the area. Lunch Included. Arrive to the City of Cuenca to spend the night. Lodge included.
